Thursday morning classes during the summer term will help intermediate students who are interested in sarvangasana (shoulderstand) develop the strength, coordination and functional dynamics to practice the pose safely. We will prepare for and practice shoulderstand each class.
Alternatives will be provided for those who want to refrain from practicing shoulderstand, for any reason. The functional dynamics presented apply to many other poses, so meaningful yoga practice can happen for those passing on shoulderstand.
Students who are additionally interested in sirsasana (headstand) are encouraged to attend the Tuesday morning classes, which will feature headstand, to improve their familiarity and proficiency with sirsasana (and its alternatives). Please use the free class option if the number of classes per week exceeds your budget.
